We are Europe’s flagship research laboratory for the life sciences – an intergovernmental organisation performing scientific research in disciplines including molecular biology, physics, chemistry and computer science. We are an international, innovative and interdisciplinary laboratory with 1700 employees from many nations operating across six sites, in Heidelberg, Barcelona, Hinxton near Cambridge, Hamburg, Grenoble and Rome. EMBL’s IT Services team delivers and supports IT infrastructure and services across our sites in Heidelberg, Barcelona, Rome Grenoble and Hamburg. The Desktop Support team in Heidelberg provides high-quality first-level and desktop support to a diverse, international user community, while also managing key Windows backend services.
In addition, the team plays an important role in EMBL’s scientific training mission by providing and maintaining IT training environments for the EMBL Advanced Training Centre.
We are looking for an experienced, service-oriented IT Support Engineer to join our Desktop Support team at EMBL Headquarters in Heidelberg.

Contract length: 3 years - renewable up to 9 years
Salary: Grade 6 (monthly salary starting at €4.580, 37 after tax, and before 13% EMBL social security deductions, plus other paid benefits).
