The role holder should feel comfortable sharing their expertise with the rest of the team, building strong cases and delivering end to end projects. You will be organized and thorough, documenting any change request you manage and have an overall understanding of HR processes in general that will allow you to flag risks or impacts.

The scope of this position includes everything from recruitment, management of policies, culture and values of work and labour law consultation to recruitment, talent management and leadership development.

Leadership is an important part of the role where you will inspire, engage and develop your own small team.


  • Plan and execute leadership development to ensure exceptional leadership experience is delivered.
  • Drive and implement company culture within the Malta office
  • Work closely with Head of HR and other HR team members with ongoing HR roadmap and key deliverables/initiatives in order to drive a great culture and workplace for our employees
  • Provide coaching and advice to managers on all employee relation matters
  • Implement global HR processes, tools and solutions
  • Assist with the management of Malta office and provide guidance to Office Assistant team
  • Support managers in; resource and competence planning, recruitment, organizational development, compensation and benefits, and employee related issues
  •  Employer Branding and associated projects
  • Develop and implement retention and development strategies
  •  Working with Head of HR to manage core HR business processes for example performance management and evaluation, talent review, development talks, and salary review
  • Continuous work to develop and improve HR policies and processes to enhance effectiveness.
  • Understand employee opinions and anticipate their needs and concerns

Relationships and Communication:

  • Malta office wide communication on any HR initiatives, processes, etc. via e-mail, presentation meetings, chats and in person
  • Company-wide communication, presentations, email and face to face
  • Consultation with team managers in Malta office for any HR related queries
  • HR & Admin communication across offices to make sure we are aligned in all we do and foster the same office culture and atmosphere, video Skype and e-mail
  • External communication with Accounting, 3rd party service providers etc. on phone, email and meetings.
  • Daily communication with Admin & HR Assistants
  • Foster and develop strong relationship with management team at strategic level

Team Management:

  • Line manager for HR and Recruitment Assistants
  • Manage their goals and objectives and performance reviews
  • Coach and develop these team members on an ongoing basis

Skills and Competencies:

  • High integrity – this person must be credible and a role model to all
  • Must have extensive and relevant experience in similar HR role
  • HR related degree/qualifications would be considered an asset
  • Excellent communicator in English
  • Adept at public speaking as well as producing written documents with varying tones and importance and to differing audiences
  • Effective listener is essential
  • Comfortable with handling difficult and at time delicate conversations
  • Approachable – a real people person and someone people feel comfortable around
  • Experience of managing a team member would be ideal
  • Knowledge of local labour laws is a must
  • Knows how to build culture at work and maintain this
  • Passionate and highly dependable
  • Strong Project Management Skills
  • Ability to relate to, influence and coach employees at all levels in the organization
  • Proven ability to diagnose problems using strategic thinking skills as well as identify and drive appropriate solutions
  • Team building and team development capabilities
  • Ability to work independently
