Summary

Our client is looking for a flexible, self-motivated individual to direct the overall growth and strategic direction of our organisation's online presence. The Head of Online is responsible for developing and managing a comprehensive online strategy, including internal and external promotion, on-line partnership building and is also responsible for finding and solve offer gaps by identifying the right products and tools to support the business. The Head of Online should also have a knack for innovation and prove their ability to negotiate agreements with suppliers and support sales, editorial & consumer marketing decisions, design plans, and overall strategic planning for the on-line business. This is a leadership position that requires someone who can motivate others to ensure the success of the department, and the organisation overall.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an online strategy that supports the company's overall goals and oversee all aspects of its implementation
  • Identify opportunities for growth and execute strategies that take advantage of these opportunities
  • Manage offer and product development to incorporate new features and functionality, identify the right suppliers, being a forward thinker and open to innovations.
  • Develop, expand, and manage current site designs and lead appropriate redesigns when needed
  • Identify and execute strategic partnerships to acquire compelling content, features, and online tools that support the offer strategy
  • Build and lead teams such as the Product Offer Team, Digital Marketing Team, Fraud & Payments Team, Compliance, Online Customer Services etc., facilitate the communication with other departments and suppliers, act as a point of decision, strategic planning and prioritization.
  • Develop and manage the organisation’s entire online budget, development including offer and maintenance, outreach and promotion, personnel and operations

 
 
Requirements

  • 5+ years online experience, including managing strategy development, growing and consolidating the existing network of online and land-based affiliations, being familiar with commission plans and online/offline acquisition tools.
  • Extensive contacts in the online space, including suppliers and competitors.
  • Solid management experience and record of accomplishment in motivating and building strong teams, ability to grow junior people into senior and experience roles.
  • Experience enabling strong interdepartmental relationships
  • Exceptional communication and organisational skills, ability to mediate and negotiate with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proven ability to build consensus and work effectively within a cross-departmental team
  • Fluent in conversation, listening and comprehension of English and Italian languages, nice to have German and Spanish.
