Requirements

In possession of a qualification in Business and Computing, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent

Conversant with a strong interest in both IT and Finance

Good proficiency in Microsoft excel

Results orientated, proactive and can-do attitude

Previous experience in the following areas is considered an asset:

Operational Finance within a payments business

Card issuing financial reconciliations

Databases and SQL

What would a day in your life look like?

Daily bookkeeping duties including maintaining the general ledgers

Settlements clearing and daily payments to Card Schemes

Daily reconciliation of scheme payments

Investigate and address in a timely manner any financial queries and issues related to our Operational Finance function coming from business partners and international card schemes

Where needed, challenge and work towards the improvement of our operational internal accounting procedures, policies, operations, management controls and reporting

Liaise with the line manager monthly, keeping them updated on status, progress, issues, etc.

Assist with a yearly external audit; prepare reconciliation statements on a monthly basis- and identify any potential discrepancies

Assist corporate team with the preparation of monthly client funds bank entries and month-end journals

Other financial reports as requested on an ad-hoc basis

Assist in meeting daily regulatory requirements for safeguarding clients’ funds
