We are looking for a Mid-Level DevOps Engineer to join their exciting team.  The ideal candidate will have a background in Cloud, systems support and/or application development with real-world experience and demonstrable Cloud Engineering knowledge.

Essential Skills 

Commercial experience gained from working in client-facing roles within an IT Services, Management Consulting or a cloud service-based organisation as a DevOps engineer or other relevant engineering type role

Previous experience working with a wide range of AWS infrastructure/application architecture and networking services

Knowledge of fundamental Infrastructure components including DNS, Load Balancing, SSL and TCP/IP

Experience administering Linux operating systems

Experience working with event driven architecture

Exposure to micro-services architectures, container orchestration platforms (Docker), DevOps and CI/CD

Previous experience with Infrastructure provisioning tools such as Terraform, Chef, Puppet, Ansible or CloudFormation

A strong desire for self-motivated continuous personal development 

Excellent organisational and time management skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects concurrently

Strong stakeholder/client management skills

Excellent team working and communication/presentation skills

Strong attention to detail

Awareness of DevOps and Agile principles

Desirable Skills

Scripting experience (Bash/Python)

Experience working with PHP frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel

Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to scalable cloud environments

Previous database management experience (PostgreSQL/MySQL)

Role and Responsibilities

Design, plan and deliver cost efficient, performant solutions to meet the organizations requirements

Automation of new and existing processes

To research and implement tooling/infrastructure to help improve development processes

To provide technical assistance to Development teams and non-technical personnel alike

Capacity planning of the cloud infrastructure

To manage the deployment pipelines and be the gatekeeper for production ready code to multiple client environments

To ensure that systems are safe and secured against security threats

Incidence Management and root cause analysis
