The Oncology Department is responsible for advanced cancer care in Gästrikland, Hälsingland, and northern Uppland. We provide both medical treatment and nursing care. Our department includes several units: day care, outpatient clinic, inpatient ward, radiotherapy, and palliative care teams.
We are a team of approximately 15 physicians with broad experience. Together, we work to provide safe, accessible, and patient-centered care tailored to each individual. Oncology is a rapidly evolving field, with continuous advancements in research and new treatments. We actively follow developments and use innovative medications that can help patients live longer.

Qualifications
We are looking for someone with strong collaboration skills who enjoys working closely with other professionals in a team. You are flexible and able to adapt to changing conditions in a constantly evolving environment. You are structured and capable of planning and prioritizing your work independently and efficiently.
We also value a humble approach and strong empathy, with the ability to understand the patient’s situation while maintaining a professional perspective.
For the role of Consultant Physician, you must:
● Hold a Swedish medical license or an equivalent foreign license. If educated outside the EU/EEA, a passing result on the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare’s knowledge test (theoretical and practical) is required
● Hold a Swedish specialist certificate or equivalent foreign specialist training in oncology
● Be able to communicate fluently in Swedish, both spoken and written, at least at B2 level, preferably C1
Meritorious:
● Subspecialization in medical oncology
● Research interest and experience in clinical studies
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Consultant Physician with us, you will work in a multidisciplinary team alongside physicians, nurses, and specialist oncology nurses, as well as in collaboration with other departments.
Your main responsibilities will include:
● Working on the inpatient ward with responsibility for admitted patients
● Outpatient clinic work with your own patient list
● On-call and standby duties
● Work within radiotherapy (depending on agreement and competence/interest)
● Participation in multidisciplinary team conferences (MDTs) based on interest
● Supervision of resident doctors
● Active participation in the department’s development and quality improvement work
