Candidates with experience in the development of backend systems and
software for cloud systems are preferred. The candidate will work in close
contact with IoT devices, so experience within this field will be highly
valued. Interest in industrial applications will be valued. Previous working
experience on relevant areas will be highly regarded. The candidate must be
able to work autonomously and show excellent English communication skills.
Academic Master’s degree or equivalent academic qualifications (or
equivalent second cycle complete) in the area of Informatics Engineering,
Computer Science, or similar.

Job Description and
The candidate will perform research activities within the Connected Things (Cyber-physical systems) group, namely in the
area of edge & cloud computing. It is expected the candidate to contribute
to the innovation area of Cognitive Connected Solutions and more specifically in
blockchain technologies applied to a real-world industry scenario.
The candidate will work on the following tasks:
- Definition and development of the proposed
blockchain based approach for assuring traceability and safety of critical
industry operational data;
- Support in deployment of blockchain
- IoT devices integration with blockchain

through the Fraunhofer Portugal Research Center for Assistive Information and
Communication Solutions (AICOS), located in Porto and born in 2009 following a
partnership between the Fraunhofer Society (Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft), the
Foundation for Science and Technology and the University of Porto.

hired researchers and a client portfolio from a broad range of areas, such as
health, agriculture, retail or energy, AICOS has consolidated competence in:

User analysis in
different environments, computer vision, cognitive and decision support
systems, and the internet of things are some of the fields of study in this
